Just as we help ordinary people listen to their own stories and identify their unique callings of service, we also help raise awareness of the deep needs of the wonderful, hurting world around us, both locally and globally.

- The big story of need — It’s easy to get so busy with our own lives that we forget we’re a part of the wider world and that we’re called in unique ways to care for the world and all that live in it. In this section, we identify ”problems,” “people” and “places” in need all around us, both locally and globally. We invite you to join our network and contribute to the STS wiki if you have any expertise or input related to the tangible needs of the world around you.
- Their story of need — We focus especially on the tangible needs of others for survival, sustenance, and stability, because people all around us, locally and globally, are living tragic stories of real, tangible need. The curious thing is that as we learn to listen to these stories of need, we begin to realize we are just as “needy” to help others as others are “needy” to receive help!
